The Discovery group of hotels is known for their spacious accommodations and utmost personal service. And that’s what I witnessed when Mothers Who Brunch invited me for a day of pampering and chika at Discovery Primea.

The Discovery Leisure Company, a homegrown Filipino hospitality group, proudly unveils Discovery Primea, a deluxe hotel for business and leisure travelers on a quick sojourn or an extended stay in the city. Towering along Ayala Avenue in the pulsating Makati Central Business District is a soaring 68-storey skyscraper home to 141 rooms and suites with stunning vistas of Manila’s skyline. The first and only Philippine hotel to become a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts LVX Collection, Discovery Primea is part of a prestigious portfolio of worldly and illustrious properties known for attentive and exclusive personalized service.
It was supposed to be me-time but as you can see, my baby girl tagged along! We had a tour of the rooms and dining options before we got to our pampering!
There are 141 rooms in the hotel and we got to visit two: a Deluxe and a Business Suite. Here’s what I liked about their rooms:

Each room includes bathrobes, umbrella, soft bedroom slippers, a jewelry case in the safe and emergency flashlight.
The Executive Suite has 2 rooms and a full functioning kitchen. You can even request the hotel’s staff to shop for your preferred dish’ ingredients so you can cook! Plus points to the washer/dryer.
Aside from the view, I noticed that you can’t hear the noise going on outside. Situated along Ayala Ave., you’d know how busy it gets. You can relax by the window as what Y did in the picture above.
We got to visit two of the five dining options in the hotel: Flame and Restaurant Tapenade.

Flame is on the 16th floor which gives a picturesque view of the metro, somewhat a romantic place at night. I’ve heard good reviews about their contemporary continental cuisine, especially their Lobster Rice! It has an open kitchen, wide array of wines and liquors, Enomatic wine dispenser (it makes the wine taste good, daw) and uses Josper grill.
On the lobby level is Restaurant Tapenade, which offers an all-day dining of Mediterranean cuisine. Some restaurants offer a salad bar, but in Tapenade, they’ll offer you a Salad Room! It’s the first time I’ve been in a Salad Room and I was floored! There were greens, cheeses, breads and fresh, succulent oysters! I can stay in that room forever! We were treated to the Mediterranean Family Feast, which consists of a buffet bursting of flavors from Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Morocco and Turkey. My daughter liked their thin crust pizza and the soup, which I now forget what it’s called. I zeroed in on the Rib-Eye Steak and Paella!

That’s it for the tour! Part 2 of this escapade is our pampering at the 3rd floor of Discovery Primea. Thanks again Mothers Who Brunch for having me!
