With poor food choices, I’ve been constipated my whole life. I remember when I was preggo, doing number 2 was such a terrifying experience that I had to take medicines lest I want to give birth right then and there. There’s so much grunting and pushing that I’ve always resorted to drinking teas and worse, suppositories!
Thankfully, through Michelle, I was given a Toilet Helper to try!
The Toilet Helper helps you achieve the proper pooping position, thus making you eliminate faster and without much fuss. It has helped me reduce being constipated and has not experienced any problem ever since.
So, how does it work?! You put the Toilet Helper by the toilet. And as you sit on the toilet, you’ll elevate your feet on it to achieve the 35-degree position – the ideal squatting position to eliminate seamlessly and comfortably. It doesn’t take too much space as it can just be pushed against the toilet when done using. Cleaning is a no-brainer as it can just be wiped clean with an all-purpose cleaner.
It’s definitely not just for adults as Z’s feet reaches it already and it lessened his grunting. No more dangling feet! I’ll post a pic of him sitting on the toilet but, it’ll be TMI!
So, getting help from the Toilet Helper is highly recommended! Visit their website now to order!
We welcomed 2017 with a much-needed respite at Shangri La Fort. Here’s a quick tour of our Deluxe King room priced at 10,000++.
Honestly, I expected more given the price tag. I liked the bed and pillows of Discovery Primea more maybe because it felt softer, like I was sinking into the mattress. With Shangri La Fort’s bed, it felt normal, just like our bed at home.
The highlight of the kids’ stay was playing at Adventure Zone! The room included two whole-day passes (priced at P800 each). I appreciate how strict the staff were, even checking the temperatures of everyone going in. There was a separate play area for toddlers with a small slide, blocks and other manipulative objects. The big play area is famous for its 90-degree drop slide, which I was too chicken to try. Bry left Z to play with the other boys as going around the playground was really tiring. There was also a pretend play area but to our dismay, there wasn’t much to play pretend with.
Buffet breakfast in the hotel’s High Street Cafe was included in the room package. It was an extensive array of food, but nothing out of the usual. I’m just sad I wasn’t able to try the Laksa everyone was raving about.
The whole complex had everything – salon, shopping stores, lots of restaurants and the very posh Kerry Sports Manila. Bry and I even got a night out of drinking, because its location was accessible to BGC’s bars!
Will we go back? Maybe for Adventure Zone or if they have really good (cheap!) deals.
On the 3rd floor of Discovery Primea, you’ll find the amenities offered in the hotel.
Yup, you read that right. There’s a chapel in the hotel. The Chapel of the Annunciation is solemn and serene with marble and wood design It was designed by the same architect who made the Church of the Gesu in the Ateneo campus. This was my first time to see a chapel inside a hotel.
Discovery Primea’s 37 Degrees Gym houses state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. No excuse to slack off in exercise even during a business stay or vacation!
The pool was very inviting and I think Y wanted to take a dip! Complete with lounge chairs and a pool bar, the 20-meter heated infinity pool is not to be missed!
What’s a day with the girls without shopping?! Luckily for us, the hotel has an in-house lifestyle shop, Lily, which sells locally-crafted goods like bags, shoes, dresses and home decor! They also offer gift-wrapping services.
After the tour comes the pampering! Terazi Spa is the only spa in the metro that offers hammam, a traditional Turkish ritual, where you’ll lie in a stone table and stay in the room that has temperature going up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit! Half of the group opted to have a full body massage or a facial, which they said was very relaxing! Actually, just being in the spa was relaxing enough for me since it smelled of lemongrass and eucalyptus! I can’t wait to go back and use the gift certificate they gave us!
As for me, I chose to have my pampering at Toni & Guy. My hair was badly needing some attention and this invitation came at the right time! Sab, Helene, Mish and myself had our scalp and hair scanned by a Kerastase device, in order to know which hair concern should be addressed. I found out that my scalp is oily but my hair is dry! Kinda weird isn’t it?! But you have to remember that the scalp and hair are two different parts! So, the treatment they gave me was suited for my scalp and hair’s problems. And then, I got my hair cut and framed my face with bangs! I felt like a new person!
To this day, my hair still feels healthy! And the fringe helps in concealing my forehead, hehe!
Thank you so much Mothers Who Brunch and Discovery Primea for this day! Truly one for the books! Pampered, fed and refreshed! Just what this momma needs! Looking forward to our next brunch 🙂
